<t>If you have spent any time at all in law school, you can probably use your car and driving delivery skills to become a process server, either on your own (you'd have to put up a bond and register at the courthouse and the drum up business by passing out flyers or cards to attorneys) or by working...

<t>I could move in a motorhome while still working. It would save the commute to and from my job, which would save some money and would give me a chance to get used to it before I retire. Or I could wait. Maybe I shouldn't be ruminating too much on it. But, you are right; if I want to roam, I have t...

<t>For years, I hated what I have come to call the "holidaze," that time of the year when consumerism is at its height as you fight your way through traffic to buy a bunch of stuff nobody really needs (otherwise, it wouldn't be a gift, it would be a necessity they got for themselves). Then you get a...

I guess I should also mention that I really do not want the problems of subletting my pad even if my landlord would let me (it's not in my lease and I don't think he would). It's way too small to get a roommate and I am used to (and like) living alone.

<t>I am 65 years old and have lived in the same apartment for over 20 years. By the standards of LA living, it is a very good deal. I love my neighborhood and have excellent, very cool, helpful, friendly neighbors whom I have known for all or most of the time I've lived here. <br/> It is a very nice...

<t>Thanks, Jacob. I had considered POD. It does take little to get started and I might wind up doing it that way. But, since I would, ideally, promote it, I would like to get the book reviewed and taken seriously, or as seriously as any self-published book can be taken. I don't see myself as the nex...

<t>I love to can. I have a steam canner for fruits, jams and other high acid foods. I have a pressure canner for low acid foods (meat, veggies, soups etc.).<br/> Canning saves money when you have a garden and/or fruit tress because it stretches the time these foods can last.<br/> It is very easy to ...

<t>One more comment I wanted to make about home canning...<br/> I am the only person I know among my friends, neighbors and co-workers who is not dreading the expense, time and effort of fighting my way through the seasonal shopping crowds. I'm starting to pack jars in baskets this week.<br/> <br/> ...

<t>Thanks for the welcome and for the comments and advice. I was amazed at the idea of building my own converted van. Don't think it likely that I would do that, though, since I am not handy and don't have much time, energy or patience with learning to use tools. But it is a consideration. I have se...
