One group was pressured into taking me with because he is the president from the local society and i'm a new member. One group was really nice. The last group was really nice, we got some boar, i had to empty them, a...

Re: Vasectomy? Child-free life?

Not being appealed by the conveniance of being vasectomised is a selection criterion like any other.
It's just sad it seems to be inversly correlated with higher than average intelligence.
This might not be as bad as it might seems for humanity as a whole, because intelligence isn't that rare.

Re: chatGPT

chat gpt is a text predicting program. It will give you kind of the average of the internet answer. It's not evaluating wether something is true or not.
But this is how conversation with many human feels anyway.

Re: mush journal: what will happen next?

One of the thing i regret, is not having competence for a highly in demand job i could get every few year for a few month. Engineer doesn't fit this description. And now, I don't have the patience to stick to anything full time for the time of an instruction. I think getting the caregiver instructio...

Re: mush journal: what will happen next?

yeah, not my bike. Buying a forest in switzerland requires a lot of patience (or luck, depending how you see it). There were about 15 years beetween when i knew i wanted to buy a forest, and the opportunity to buy one. I'm not allowed to live in it, and building is very restricted. (i could build a ...

Is your bike a fixie with oval chain ring, a water drop low bar and a 46/17 chain ratio? mine was stolen...

Re: Examples of ERE2 Lifestyles (or rather, holons?)

were i live, it's a very detached community, but we are at the end of many waste stream, the number allows us to use all those wastes, the diversity of skills allows many problems to be solved internally. It makes it quite easy to live there for 500 per month. I think it's a very good compromise. ev...

Re: Net Energy Gain from Fusion! What?!

All researcher i met that worked on fusion i talked to gave me the impression that they didn't believe in the possibility for fusion to be doable. They just thought it was a nice goal to fund research for. Also, I don't see how fusion is radicaly better than fission if we were to build modern reacto...

That's probably the best solution, it would also be great have a non clicky mouse. Or maybe not, as it is preventing me from launching a game.

Re: Smelly Swiss Dilettante

My ankle doesn't hurt anymore, my back neither, but it might come back, I started two novels. I didn't quite like the subject of the first one, mostly because i was affraid it could get me in trouble, even if i think a lot of people would have enjoyed reading it. I found an other subject. It's will ...

Re: White Trash Book Smart

@AE Thank you for your insight, they allow me to see those community behavior in a much nicer light. As i'm probably not very normal, I am in socials circles with a lot of those people. They expect me to hate the patriarchy like everyone else, and i have troubles relating to them. Fortunately i oper...

Re: Smelly Swiss Dilettante

Langres itself is fine, but the villages around it are losing all their economic activities.
Also, the terrible murders, and people laughing about it.

Also, i reread my whole journal, I wrote some very good thing.
I'm also very gratefull for everyone that answered my posts.
