Re: Matty's Journal

Hi Matty,

Thanks for your Journal.

It's nice to see the perspectives of other Australian's.

In relation to joining the reserves I would encourage you to do it. I joined the Reserves as a gun number in the artillery when I was 19 and stayed for 5 years before transferring to the regular army as a ...

Re: Microadventures

I can relate to that Jennypenny.

I was in the boy scouts as an adolescent, I spent 9 years in the Army with plenty of patrolling / sleeping in the middle of no where, I thoroughly enjoyed hiking for about a decade but I could never bring myself to do overnight hikes on my own and after running into ...

Re: My_Brain_Gets_Itchy's Journal

G'day mate,

I am a late comer to your journal but happy I found it whilst it was still active.

I began reading the first page through this afternoon and was struck by how similar your position was to mine currently.

I discovered ERE 6 months ago after 10 years of employment (where did those 10 ...

Re: Aspergers

Hmm I have entertained the idea of having Aspergers as a result of reading various lists of symptoms but have never been in a situation where I have been diagnosed. I am aware of colleagues whose children have been diagnosed with Autism or Aspergers and I have found I related to them and considered ...

Re: Anyone want to come sailing with me this winter?

Heya Susswein,

I just moved aboard my own 25' Roberts.

Its my first yacht, going to use her for the next year polishing up my nav skills (I have worked at sea in the navy)

At the moment she is berthed in Brisbane Australia where I work. I still have 15 years unfortunately, until ERE but would ...

Re: dating ERE

oh wow, Spartan_Warrior himself - the surrogate father of this thread! (just being tongue in cheek)

Firstly, Congratulations on the continuing relationship and on reducing outgoings by 4k (more so the 4k than anything :P )

Secondly, I experienced a rather serendipitous moment last night ...

Re: New fom UK

Nomini,

thanks for the reply mate, I appreciate you satiating my curiosity.

You are quite right - I went from the Army to Navy thinking prolonged periods at Sea would help me save but it just meant everybody spent bigger when they had the chance.

Sites like this and thinking things through ...

Re: dating ERE

Firstly I would like to point out that this thread has been running for two years. Clearly, a lot of people have a lot to say on the matter.

I would like to throw my 2cents in to the ring.

Firstly, I am 32, male, employed as an Investigator in the Australian Defence Force, single, and have ...
