Re: Brexit

My reaction is maximise income, minimise expenses and keep investing, developing skills and hobbies that could become side gigs. (Exactly what I was doing anyway - just more urgency). I'm currently down less than 1% net worth but I await my broker to update fund prices, my company pension is slow so...

What are your current recent PR's? what is your current training strategy? do you have anything in mind. Most people should be able to do a mini-sprint without training

Re: aspirin a day?

is that the "baby aspirin"??? In my family and my wife's family we have a history of melanomas. e.g. urethral melanomas ( i was so happy when i heard that diagnosis) ((not mine)) I find that most people's lifestyle factors could have a bigger influence. How many people actually feel happy with their...

Re: Mihaela in Bulgaria's diary

Hi, I would like to say, you are awesome! My childhood hero Stiliyan Alyoshev Petrov is Bulgarian. I'm a Celtic fan. My uncle is a Villa fan. This man has so much valour it is unbelievable. The first thing I have to say is you are doing amazing thinking of the possibilities. Getting out of debt and ...

Re: What do you think of universities or colleges soliciting donations from their alumni/ae?

There must be some money in it if they are willing to employ people to do it. So it seems like a decent revenue raising exericse. It would not work on me. My brother had a credit card that paid 0.5% cashback on everything he purchased to his university. I think he used it for 2-3 years and then just...

Re: minimalist capsule wardrobe

I spent an hour typing a follow up post and it got deleted some how.So I have retyped and condensed what I have remembered @ chenda - I'm overthinking it. @ vexed87 = I don't think since i stopped growing at 16 that i've owned 50 tshirts since then. minimalist capsule wardrobe

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but i've been looking to create a minimalist caspule wardrobe with a bit of success. Workwise - I am balanced (I bought a work wear bundle off ebay and have enough shirts for 3/4 years). I could do with some new work/formal shoes and a suit however I h...

Re: Burpee competition

I did 21!!!

Only thing is,

My old athletics coach made us do star jumps on the last phase so I guess i did a variation. I only lasted 50 seconds. My form was spot on but I felt my heart was going to explode.

I badly need to get fit again

Re: UK property question

I know Bristol prices are different from up north but zoopla.co.uk and rightmove.co.uk will be your friends for research. I head it is expensive down there. It depends how many bedrooms you want to rent out. Check out the rent a room scheme https://www.gov.uk/rent-room-in-your-home/the-rent-a-room-s...

need commuting advice

I'm relying on you clever people to critique my thinking. Currently I drive 45 miles a day to and from work. (moving my job closer to home would involve a paycut and moving my life closer to work would involve moving costs which make the status quo the only option for now. To work closer to home I'd...

www.monevator.com - read the weekly round up for a year before paying for any information. Get into the your shower immediately and switch it on cold. hat tip to www.monevator.com - read once a week for the weekly round up. He reads all the newspapers so you don't have to. www.fool.co.uk can be good for different styles of investing e.g. value or high yield. The forums are second to none.
