<t>Think of ways to absorb sound and reflect it. You could stuff some insulation (absorb) in the window if you don't plan to put it in and take it out. You can look for some memory foam from a used bed...try a used futon mattress you can cut wrap and stuff in the window frame. The thicker the materi...

I believe underwear was a method of hygiene. It gives you two barriers against possible spread of disease.
Second to that, it keep your pants clean for a second wear if they aren't too dirty.

<t>"Yes, but you only respect them in their traditional roles. Do you also feel that the men here who are fathers should keep working?" <br/> I think men are not exempt from making the same mistakes and have more than made their fair share as absent providers. I think life is about balance and in al...

<t>Thanks prosaic, but again, this isn't about me. My son's attachment to me is fine and well. I won't dwell on this in any sort of ad hominem as I'm in one hundred percent security in my confidence with my role as father.<br/> My point is that a father can not replace his mother and neither can any...

<t>aussierogue - you read too much into the statement and mistook what I wrote. I have a degree in science and I know biology plays a key role in all of us - despite what kinds of modern day spin we might like to play with it. My wife only works half-time and we both share equally in the bread-winni...

<t>I'm listening, but not buying yet.<br/> I know kids who grow up to be angry and bitter at parents who sacrificed time with them for monetary gain even when those gains where shared later in adulthood.<br/> Kids still always resent parents who "ignore them."<br/> I find it fascinating to think tha...

<t>At 37 her genes screamed at her to have a kid and her culture told her that it's okay to spend the absolute minimum investment in him, and this is natural today? <br/> Her kid's not going to care about the size of her bank account.<br/> For the record, I'm my son's primary care-giver. Yet my wife...

<t>We can just outsource raising children now? Dad is no substitute for Mom, not even close, just ask the kids. And strangers and Nannies don't come close to either. Grandparents can FILL in, but Mom and Dad are vital.<br/> So if Mom isn't needed because Dad can do, then it naturally follows that if...

<t>I think it's a bit sick that Marissa Mayers (new CEO of Yahoo!) wants to work through a short maternity leave. She's due in October. <br/> I'm no so sick that she's been chosen for the job, I just find it sick that she has a net worth of 300 million and wont give up any reasonable amount of work ...

<t>ExpatERE I've been thinking this for a while. My own experiments show great resistance to education to ERE by anyone not naturally attuned to it. You're either one of us, or you're not. It's totally a personality thing.<br/> Unless you want to be an ERE who actively takes care of the middle class...

<t>Good point Spartan. <br/> I guess my main drive was more into the mentality. I wonder if ERE makes us even MORE isolated than the upper class. The upper class tends to hang out with similar, who are we left to hang out with? I'm wondering if that's our aim, to be a wing of society by our lonesome...
