Re: Zalo Gets a 60k/yr Job He Likes Support Thread?

You seem to be open to immigration. I'd put Canada on top of my list. Study the system and get it done. Good luck!

Re: Post-factualism: Goodbye Enlightenment--Hello Idiocracy?

Speaking of idiocracy and idiots, Rick Perry was picked for Secretary of Energy today. Oops - the same Rick Perry who could not remember the name of the Department of Energy in one of the debates. How apropos for this thread that we are transitioning from Nobel-caliber nuclear scientists Moniz and C...

Re: Anyone moved to a different state for cheaper housing?

I moved to a different state (NYC to PXH) and cut my housing costs by 75℅. A few months ago, I moved to a different state of mind and cut my housing costs by an additional 95℅ by living out of my car. Moving to a different state will only save you so much. Moving to a different state of mind offers ...

Re: Next job: technical or management?

...the root cause of the problem. Often the root cause is our own attitude. One way to address the cause is to acknowledge it and then learn how to metaform or change something by changing only our own attitude about it. Otherwise, we risk cycling through the same frustrations in the next technical...

Re: Thinking of getting a bike; tips?

If you are planning to take your bike on the train, one of these folding commuter hybrids might work well for you. I bought one 3 months ago and I use it for my 6-mile round-trip daily commute and on weekends. I'm 5-8, 170lbs and it fits OK. No maintenance/performance issues so far after 1,500 miles...
