@Stasher
When you are ready to visit the US plan a visit (avoid the Rally). There is a long lovely bike path. Another nice feature of the area is the microclimates. If you are in a spot that is too hot or too cold you can always just drive 30 minutes find better weather.

It sounds like it is safe and accessible to camp?
I wonder how how hard the driving on the left is?
I saw some cheap campervan relocation for when we are planning on being there.

We call that a one butt kitchen.
In our camper we also practice the “hug and turn” as a way to get from one end to the other.
The Apartment Therapy website used to do lots of tour of small thoughtful spaces I think it has morphed into a consumerist platform to sell you stuff.

While I didn’t partake this year
I usually dumpster diving on the college campus near my previous home
Things that seem to be reliable scavenged are towels, cleaning supplies, waste baskets, and canned food.
Anyway it’s always interesting

I’m going to respectfully disagree with Jacob that the low cost American small towns being some monolith of anti-intellectualism and poverty. There are small towns in my home state that are inhabited by only the very elderly and very addicted. There are others that are ultra clean and super ...

I can sign up for healthcare from a mailbox service. We have lived in that area previously and know a few providers and have a social network to ask other people.
We might post up in Dubuque and/or Decorah sometime this summer. They are a couple of our favorites.

You are right.
I looked it up. In our county this considered a subdivision regardless of if it is gifted or sold. She can’t just find a lawyer and make it happen. Not sure about the easement/access issues.
I might keep this to myself as it will slow things down and I am trying to buy myself ...
