Patientcashflow.com is a good blog for building streams of passive income like dividends but also other investment vehicles.

I know several businesses that incorporate vending machines as a way to generate some side income, but I didnt think to make it the main business strategy

hmm may I ask why you want to invest in commodity indexes? You may want to reconsider, maybe check out a gold or silver and call it a day to hedge against inflation.
