Sounds like a great idea. Better yet, scrap capital gains taxes altogether. The US need lots and lots of capital to repair the balance sheets. Nothing better stimulates capital accumulation than honest money and lack of taxes.

<t>If anyone wants to retire to a peaceful island in the Med, I would recommend Malta (Gozo to be precise). No tax on foreign income for resident foreigners, as long as that income stays abroad. Lovely climate. Natural food. Picturesque countryside. Very good healthcare. Everyone speaks English ...

<t>If I were to choose just one, I'd say Harry Browne's "How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World". Just brilliant!<br/>
Other than that, I love Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, Hans-Hermann Hoppe and all other austrians of the misesian-rothbardian line. Nathaniel Branden isn't bad either.<br/>

I do 150 pushups every second day and 25 pull ups and 2 km run on the pushup free days. Works very well for me. Slowly increasing the quantities, really enjoying the process. Barely takes 15 minutes a day and makes me feel and look much better!

I'm anarcho-capitalist of the Rothbardian variety, and I'm hiding in a tax heaven abroad. As a result, both for ideological and practical reasons, I haven't voted for many years and intend to keep it that way.

I agree with point already raised that many modern appliances replace the older ones. I may have a smartphone, but it replaces a landline phone. Laptop instead of a TV. Kindle instead of paper books. Watch is no longer needed, since I always carry my phone with me. And so on.

I'd suggest Malta. No taxes on foreign income as long as it stays abroad, no property taxes, very safe, good education system. Moved here a year ago from Ireland and just love it!

Australian dollar is very overvalued and will crash as soon as China starts slowing down. The question is not if, but when.
Best way to take advantage of it, in my opinion, is via shares of Australia based gold miners. Their margins should grow very nicely. Just a thought...
