Re: Lifespan
For the record, I also have no issue with someone taking TRT. Since it requires a doctor’s prescription and at least some medical oversight, the risks are probably much lower than many other performance enhancers people take. There have been some studies that examine the possibility of using TRT dur...

I didn’t realize this is the same guy who founded Venmo and currently has a net worth of over $400 million. Based on the replies above yours, some people are objecting because they suspect a large proportion of the positive, anti-aging effects seen by the blueprint article author may be due to testo...

His use of TRT jumps out at me: Testosterone: 769 Testosterone 2mg patch 6x weekly Wait this guy has just been on gear this whole time? That's enough to make me question the credibility of most things he says. No diet or lifestyle changes will make as much of a difference as just mainlining testost...

Re: No grid challenge
Everyone loves travel. I love travel. So doesn't not traveling worsen my life? The opposite of not traveling isn't sitting a room staring at the wall. In my case it's community. It's discovering local food. It's finding joy and reward inside instead of out there. It's recognizing that billions of p...

Just realized this thread exists but it doesn't mention Spodek by name so it didn't show up in search results. I originally posted this in a new thread: I searched the forums and didn't see any mention of Josh Spodek. He is a former astrophysicist (remind you of anyone?) who is now an executive coac...

Re: Decentralizing FI for strategic reasons?
I think it would be cool to see the 21 day makeover repackaged in another form (whether that’s book, animation, game, etc) but I don’t think Jacob should be the one to do it. Some people excel at coming up with novel solutions to hard problems, while others excel at crafting a message to persuade an...

https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1011492107 Cited more than 3,500 times on Google Scholar. That research has been discussed on here before. That $75k mark conveniently was also slightly better than median income at the time of the research, which likely means that as @Jacob alluded to, people ...

Re: White Belt's Military Journey to FI
I keep feeling like I am getting close to turning a corner, close to getting my spark back, but I can't quite keep the momentum going. Almost like it's two steps forward, one step back. Overall, my life is going pretty well. My relationship with DGF continues to flourish and I feel as close to frien...

Re: Decentralizing FI for strategic reasons?
With ERE people have to create their own style whereas consumers just hire out the problem (comparative advantage again) and buy the Target/Ikea-style. In terms of core-design, I note that ERE1 has no mention of style-capital(*) (and also no spiritual-capital) as I (myself) didn't really need them ...

Re: How do you make a house or apartment cozy?
Thinking about it more, I think it would be even better if forumites would post some pictures of their spaces that they feel are very cozy. That could provide some design inspiration and we know that copying is the first step on the CCCCC learning scale from the ERE book. I know @Ego often posts pic...

Do you have a particular space you are trying to revamp? If you post some pictures perhaps the more aesthetically-minded forumites can point you in the right direction.

@jacob: do you have the 40l version or the smaller one of the gr2? And would you think the 40l one would be too big for someone under 6’ tall? Also, would you still recommend the gr2? I have a smaller backpack, an old Gregory hiking pack, that I use for rucking around the neighborhood for cardio wi...

A lot of people these days are of the opinion to keep basically the most minimal laptop you can and outsource all the complicated work to the cloud. I don't know anything about video rendering, but if it comes down to it I bet you could render video in the cloud for a very small amount of money com...

I've been researching laptop options because I'm now doing both live streaming and video editing on my 7+ year old Toshiba laptop and it's starting to show its age. I upgraded to 16gb RAM a few years ago when I was doing a lot of work on virtual machines, but I'm still on the original HDD which is ...

Re: Advanced Retroadaptics Podcast
Most Youtubers also make judicious use of jump cuts, zooms, and text on screen for emphasis. This requires significantly more editing time, so since you're editing your own videos, you'll have to decide what constitutes "good enough" when it comes to video production.

Camera: pixel3 Sound: zoomh5 with lapel mic I edited ep10 in Blender, which I don't really recommend. I'll probably use DaVinci Resolve for the next one, which I've used before. Sounds like you have a decent setup for what you're doing. I use an old iPhone as my camera, Blue Yeti as my mic, and OBS...

I ended the year fine, and I'm seriously debating taking on a more aggressive and ambitious mindset wrt my career. I've allowed the ERE/FIRE/MRM mindset to act as a sort of poison to excuse what is really just laziness over the past handful of years. Lots of half-formed thoughts bouncing around my ...

How exciting : ) Have you thought about what you are going to do about rings ? Yes, DGF wants something artificial for her engagement ring. Maybe lab grown diamond or Cubic Zirconia. I'll probably just get one of the silicon rings for me. That's great! Do you have any friends that are good photogra...

Re: Podcasts - engaging with the Internet audio / video way
I have a Youtube channel where I post gameplay videos/commentary. For podcast and video, audio quality is going to be important. One of the most recommended "good" cheap USB microphones is a Blue Yeti. I'm not sure how available they are in your country, but here in the USA you can pick up...
