Tower of David

I've been following the news stories about the eviction of the residents of the "squatters tower" in Caracas, Venezuela. It's interesting how about 3000 people created an apparently pretty functional community in this unfinished office building.

Most residents don't want to move as they like being in the city and don't want to move an hour away; many have jobs nearby and don't want to/can't commute. A lot of people have kids in school there.

The ultimate in high density living! Anyone seen any good articles explaining what it was like to actually live there? Seems like the dynamics would be interesting. How do people claim a particular space? Sounds like there'd be some kind of informal enforcers and such.

Interesting. this story also mentions other squatter buildings in Caracas.

This was the story I recently heard on NPR:
