Not pretty. Especially since I will not be making this much next month (there were three paychecks this month). However, on the plus side, here's what I'm doing about this numbers, or why they'll be different next month:
Rent: Moved in the middle of the month. This figure includes pro-rated rent for two different apartments, plus pet deposit. Paid rent deposit in December.
Medical: This is for medicines for the family. May go up next month, but will hover around this amount each month.
Utilities: Smaller space, so I expect to use way less. Plus, this number was unusual for us anyway. In the old apartment, we paid water, sewer, and electric. In the new apartment, we only pay electric. We no longer have a washer/dryer, or dishwasher to run and pay for. However, we don't have a microwave yet, so any time we've needed anything warmed up, even just water for coffee, we had to use the stove, so I expect that to add to the bill.
Phone/Internet: Included transfer fee to new apartment.
Rental House expenses: I will no longer be responsible for this, so from now on that category will be $0.
New apartment set up: getting things like shower curtain rods and space heater, and such.
School: that was the last payment for my spring semester classes. I bought a textbook this month, and will be buying a study guide for the TEAS test for nursing school, but after that, this expense should be $0 until the fall semester starts up.
House supplies: the sad thing is that I have no idea what I bought in this category, when I don't have the receipts right in front of me.
Laundry: we had a bunch of clothes to be washed at the laundromat. This will go down as we get used to life without a washer/dryer and hand wash some stuff.
Allowances: I'm trying to tighten up the spending, so I've given mom and brother allowances so they can buy frivolous stuff on their own. This represents Jan AND Feb's allowances. Interestingly enough, as soon as the money was in mom's hands to make her own spending decisions with, she didn't want to spend any of it! It definitely makes us all more aware of what we're buying and why (I'll be getting an allowance too). I think this will be a good category to keep.
