Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a while but have finally decided to start a journal as I'm currently just about to start my journey. I just graduated last Spring and have been living on a pretty small budget but with no income. However, I've recently started looking for work and expect to start somewhere within the next month or so.
-Looking for work as a software engineer.
-Currently in the Northeast but willing to relocate.
-Primary motivation: More time for rock climbing.
-Car Insurance: $100
-Climbing Gym: $60
-Get a job that pays well enough that I can save at least 50% of my income, and one that is also close to either a quality climbing gym, or quality outdoor locations. (Currently looking at Boston, New York, Boulder would be awesome if an employer would hire me from so far away)
-Find a cheap housing situation, probably with roommates, would actually prefer that I kind of miss the roommate situation from college.
-Sell or garage my car(at my folks not in town) if I move to NYC
So, this is the plan for now I suppose my biggest issue will be job selection and after that I will probably have a whole new list of goals but for now that is the focus. If anyone has some suggestions for cities that might work well, I would love to hear about them. Also, if anybody has some suggestions about the job hunt, especially how to tell if you'll enjoy working for a company.
