Best cookies
I'm just gonna put it out there - Subway, the national-chain-not-real-bread sandwich shop... has the best cookies. I'm eating one (okay two) right now. Damn. So good. I tried a new one today - S'mores. So. Good. But chocolate chip is still the best.

Re: Best cookies
Do you have cookies regularly, or have you been without for a while? I think any cookie would be good if you've been keto for a while or something. I find that after a while not drinking I'll hear something like, "You know, Miller Lite really is full of flavor!" and realize they are coming out of my mouth.

Re: Best cookies
I am partial to oatmeal raisin personally, even though i understand they're not usually best preferred. but they're easy to make and they're delicious. Unsure I would defend Subway over other cookie purveyors, but fat, flour, and refined sugar are glorious drugs and make life the best -- before your pancreas gives out and your teeth fall out, that is. Enjoy cookie. Also recommend going to a cake shop and buying 3-5 pieces that strike your fancy. If no one saw you eating them alone at home, it didn't happen

Re: Best cookies
in the usa you can go to the same gas station that hosts your subway shop and grab a bag of pepperidge farm chessmen butter cookies, which are pretty great.
price depends on the gas station, but at walmart they are $3

an upgrade from that are walkers shortbreads. more money for less weight:

however, not very ere to buy what you can make and have it imported all the way from scotland.
so these are even better and, wow, cheaper

being lazy as i am i just make a rectangular cake pan and skip the wedge nonsense. besides i don’t have round cake pans. i’ll make some today actually. so good... and so easy and cheap and easy again. easier than going to a gas station for sure.

Re: Best cookies
counterpoint: there are many shitty cookies, bought and homemade. to wit:
all girl scout cookies. but particularly: samoas.
little debbie’s oatmeal creme. wtf people, how can you eat these.
mint oreos: pass the listerine. also various bizarro oreos. the double stuff alone ruins the balance.
fig newtons. too damn sweet.
a bunch of no-name greasy wafers made with transfats. is it cardboard?
every cookie sold at the walmart bakery section
weird brands from the dollar store
SNACKWELLS. just say no.
the common denominator is: too much sugar (except for the “diet” shit), weird fats, crap chemicals. burn them all.

Re: Best cookies
made some shortbread using 50% oat flour by running oat flakes through the food processor. came out as a crystalized plank onto a cutting board and i chopped it with a knife. will be great with coffee all week.
made also a large tray of granola (same temp as the shortbread so piggipybacked the bake). much better than the commercial crap out there. quality ingredients, great taste, never oversugared, life is good starting with breakfast.

Subway cookies are okay, I just can't stand the smell of those places. I like the standard nestle tollhouse chocolate chip recipe, but I go half/half butter/shortening, much better than all butter or all shortening IMO. Also heavy on chocolate chips.
