where do you place Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in this framework?

Apart from just the name, Yoga Sūtra has all the symptoms of a sūtra work. Sūtra-s are the cliff notes for a subject of study. It states its purpose, lays down definitions before using specific terms, each sūtra is short so deals with/covers only one topic at a time, makes only one point per sūtra, each sūtra expounds upon the previous and should logically lead to the next within the scope of the chapter as a thread stringing together pearls, and terse for easy recall during discussions, referencing or as aids for teaching.

Another work of Patañjali (lit. joined/cupped hands directed downwards like when offering flowers or water oblations) is the Mahābhāṣya (lit. great commentary) which reviews the criticism levied by Kātyāyana on Aṣṭādhyāyī (lit. in 8 chapters) which are sūtra's on grammar by Pāṇini so also called Pāṇinīya Sūtrapāṭha.

So unsure how they could fit a framework to be compared directly.
