there are great jobs out there. has Analytical Engine considered getting a more fun job? in brute's experience, the fun jobs pay better, too.

Re: Analytical Engine's Three-Year Plan
You can get too caught up on lamenting a job being boring. Its pretty hard to get work that is fun. Being bored at work is a much higher level of existence than being highly stressed - having experienced both. Having a boring job is not bad at all as long as it pays ok IMO, especially if you are focussed on FI and all the variety of projects and hobbies that entails (all of which take time and energy which could otherwise be sucked out of you by a high stress job).

Re: Analytical Engine's Three-Year Plan
We are so alike so I feel obliged to comment! Same age, same goal to semi-retire by 30! I agree that it's pretty ambitious.
I graduated in 2013 and realised in my first job out of university that working sucks. Researched for a way out and discovered ERE. I'm also in a SUPER BORING job but haven't left yet. In my industry, stress is the norm and I'm thankful that my job leans more towards boredom than stress.
One question: How do you plan to approach your career/job in the interim? Are you going to climb the ladder or grind it out Loser (see Gervais Principle) style?
I'm looking forward to reading about your semi-retirement journey!
