Fujitsu scansnap and getting rid of printer

Post by henders » Wed Apr 19, 2017 2:28 am

I've had this wireless MFC for the last 10 years but it's not doing scanning perfectly anymore - paperjam etc. requires me to feed all papers by hand one by one.

I'm looking to get a Fuji ix500 but don't want to have two devices in the house.

I wish I could get rid of the MFC but there are PDF forms that are not write-able and need to be printed out and signed. Don't want to run to the library to print out forms either as it's much easier to do everything from home. The only other option is to print from work but that's another dependency.

Wondering what to do.

If you have a decent digital camera it will take surprisingly good copies, I did this for a while before I bought my ScanSnap.

The free version of Nitro Reader allows you to sign a document with a picture of your actual signature then re-save it as a pdf and send. The recipient cannot tell the difference.
