Next Copenhagen meet-up

The first meet-up at Eureka's place was a resounding success (but I hope someone remembered to let FBeyer out of the tool shed...) ;)

Next meet-up will be at my place, in northern Copenhagen, at 2pm one of the following days:

Place your bets! :)

I suggest we post a tentative agenda when we know the finalized date for the meetup. That way those of us who want to talk real estate investing can sit in our little corner and bitch about taxation of private firms and those who want to talk about minimalism and toys-free child rearing can do so on our own...

It just seemed to me that there were about four/five people talking last time, and those with better manners than other might not readily interrupt an ongoing discussion, so if we want to split into groups of any kind we could do so if we knew the agenda in advance :)

In my experience smaller (<10) meetups are almost always dominated by a few of the more extroverted ppl.

that's why I wanted to deliberately break people up into groups. The Poisson probability of air time for the introverts should increase the smaller the sample size :) let variance work for them.

Calling Danes and our ERE neighbours...
The clock is tic-toc'ing, and voting for the date of the next Copenhagen ERE meeting will end this Friday at noon!
Sun Nov 6th is in the lead, but will it hold out to the end??? Don't be shy, cast your vote at:

Once the date is set, we can decide on an agenda and format.

Hi everybody,

What about we decide on 6 November? It would be good to fix a date and plot it in our calendars before they fill up with other, less important, stuff.

Oh, sorry BadHorse, I did not see your last post before I posted mine. If you decide on the date tomorrow, I guess I can wait confirming my other appointment until then.

Hi everyone

I'm considering joining you on 6 November. Can anyone shed some light on the (expected) agenda of the meeting?

Hi @tjelli,

welcome to the forum, and great that you'll join us at the meet-up! :)
I'll be sending out details by pm when we get a bit closer. In the meantime, would you mind sharing a bit about yourself and your interest in ERE? I'm curious as to who I'll be hosting :) PM is fine of course if you'd rather not post public.
It's great to see the ERE approach gaining some momentum in Denmark!

Hi,

I also live in CPH and became aware of the forum a few days ago. I made a quick introduction on the Introduction page. I would also like to join the meeting and experience what it will lead to.

Of course @BadHorse and everyone else, sorry for not introducing myself before. I am 26 years old, work full-time in a professional services firm and run my own fintech business on the side. I have always been somewhat of a saver by nature, but only recently started reading up on FIRE. To be honest, I am probably mostly interested in the FI-aspect of FIRE, but due to personal circumstances RE (or at least part-time work) may become relevant before I reach the normal retirement age.

If you'd like to know more, feel free to PM me :)

Best,
tjelli

Wow, we're getting a good good influx of new people here. Great :)

@tjelli, thanks for your intro. Sounds very interesting with your fintech company, hope we can hear some more at the meetup! Speaking of which, I'll be sending out PMs and details this weekend at the latest.

@chol03ac, you are also welcome. Would you mind sharing a bit about yourself too? Post or PM is fine.

Hello everybody,

I have recently found this thread, and I am so excited to see that we are so many from the Copenhagen area. If possible, I would very much like to join the discussion in the forum and also attend future meetings - this coming Sunday is not an option for me, unfortunately.

A bit about myself: A friend of mine sent me a link to the interview with Jacob in one of the Danish newspapers. Since then, I have been exploring (still quite superficially) financial indenpendence sources such as ERE (the book), Mr Money Moustache and Madfientist. One of my major challenges is to adopt the many insights from these sources to a Danish context and I hope we can help each other out in this endeveour.

Please let me know if you need more information about me (I am not a journalist!).

Looking forward to sharing thoughts with you about the subject.

Best thoughts,
