500 posts to FIRE?
500 posts to FIRE?
Who mentioned it? Jacob? I'm at 476 now, but was it 500 journal posts or just 500 posts total?
Re: 500 posts to FIRE?
Yes, Jacob mentioned it in my joural. He was talking about 500 journal posts.

Yes, I've noticed the "500 post" phenomena enough times to make up a rule/law. It's the length of your journal thread, but they don't all have to be yours.

Re: 500 posts to FIRE?
My journal is two years old and contains 164 posts, for 82 posts per year.
500 - 164 = 336 posts remaining
336 / 82 = 4.1 years remaining
At best I'll be FIRE in 10 years. I had better start making more or spending less soon or it's going to ruin Jacob's theory.

Re: 500 posts to FIRE?
While I'm under 4%, and projected 3% in another 2 years....well, at 25 posts over 2.5 years, I've clearly got a longer road ahead than I anticipated, 47.5 years in fact. God. How did I come here and do *worse* than FIRE by 65?

ITT: no one considers the variance of parameter estimates.

You clearly need to change your writing portfolio allocation to improve your SWR (success writing rate) %. I recommend studying portfoliocharts.comslsdly wrote:While I'm under 4%, and projected 3% in another 2 years....well, at 25 posts over 2.5 years, I've clearly got a longer road ahead than I anticipated, 47.5 years in fact.
