Cyber Squirrel Operations - Lights Out ;)

Post by EMJ »

This map lists all unclassified Cyber Squirrel Operations that have been released to the public that we have been able to confirm. There are many more executed ops than displayed on this map however, those ops remain classified.

"I don't think paralysis [of the electrical grid] is more likely by cyberattack than by natural disaster. And frankly the number-one threat experienced to date by the US electrical grid is squirrels." - John C. Inglis, Former Deputy Director, National Security Agency 2015.07.09

What a strange website. I enjoyed it though. I've always suspected the squirrels were up to something

Squirrels aren't coordinated though. Think of them as a predictable cost of operations. Their impact is diversified and uncorrelated. There is no global squirrel conspiracy, I hope. It's like death by a thousand nibbling ducks.

Extreme risks, like Carrington events or hostile acts are coordinated. Their impact would be concentrated and correlated. Likely to cascade. These are uninsurable risks. This is like death by a thousand pound duck falling on your head.

But there are no thousand pound ducks, so that risk is nonexistent.

@EMJ - Survivor bias ;-) Absence of evidence is not ...
