Edit to add that the ads on that website may be NSFW. Whoops. My adblocker filtered them so I didn't know. Apologies.

Now if that doesn't elicit even a tiny Dick Cheney style smirk among all you hardcore savers, I don't know ...

Is retiring now supposed to be a bad thing? When you live your life around your retirement fund, you may as well retire now.

That's satire, right? I can't even tell..
Re: If You Have Savings In Your 20s, You’re Doing Something Wrong
Wow, that article is full of fallacies. Translation: my life was soooooooo shitty because I can only meet my entertainment needs with money, then I spent all my money and was temporarily happy, and you should too!
Re: If You Have Savings In Your 20s, You’re Doing Something Wrong
People who are saving in their 20s are people who don’t set their sights high. They’ve already dropped out of the game and settled for the minor leagues.
Your 20s are not the time to save; they’re the time to gamble. $200 a month isn’t going to make the dent that a $60,000 pay raise will after spending all those nights out networking.
This has to be a joke. Thanks for the laugh.

Did you read the comments? They're great. (I know, right? When does that ever happen?) The comments give me hope that some millennials are finally getting it.

On a side note, you probably shouldn't open this link at work. There are some racy ads (basically tasteful porn) that can appear on the page.

Sounds to me like someone justifying their own lack of self control/lifestyle habits, rather than someone who had an epiphany and discovered the universal secret to life. Obvious false dichotomy as there are any number of ways to enjoy life and increase your wealth at the same time. Seeing the inside of a cab or a "club" did nothing for my quality of life. But if that's what makes her truly happy, more power to her. I just hope she's not too disappointed if that $60K pay raise never comes.

Juxtaposed with this, just for a laugh: Uncle Sam's Promise To Millennials: Pay $600,000, Get $2 Million In Retirement (Forbes)
So... yeah. Don't bother saving, kiddos. The government has you covered in retirement with Magic Math. You can trust them! After all, these are the people who brought you WMDs and Bengazi. In a recent AARP survey, 75% of those aged 18 to 29 said they expected to rely on Social Security “substantially” or “somewhat” for their own retirements, up from 62% in 2010. It’s important to note, however, that 55% of the same young folks said they agreed completely or somewhat with the statement “Social Security won’t be there when I’m ready to retire.”

Uhm, well, I am thankful for these folks. They can just live it up, take out loans and then keep paying me interest.
HAHAHA!I was trying to save, which meant trying not to eat.
Don't mind if I do....When you live your life around your retirement fund, you may as well retire now.
