The implicit philosphy described in Jacobs book: eg: use and posess only as little as you really need (living space, clothes), become a universal man by learning many practical skills, dont be too much influenced by what is the general way of thinking and living etc is a good start to tame your material wishes. To get the pleasure of doing things yourself, and to get the situation that you are the master of (the time of) your life.
But how soon we read it as to get ASAP your FI, get the biggest resumé, why am I not quite happy after FI. How strange we are.

Thoughts we have can be benificial for us but also can limit ourselves. As we eg hate things to do, or are jealous of others we limit ourselves, because we dont feel well, we spoil our energy.
How to tame my will, is one of the most difficult things I find to learn.

Sometimes I am lucky, and am I complete happy with whom I am, and with the circumstances around me, but it requires a lot of thinking and practising, and still it evades me often.
I wonder how many of us has the wish to tame their will?
