Tofu Recipes?

Hi!
When I went to the local city I bought a small batch of Tofu. Any ERErs who are vegan have any recipe ideas involving it? That are simple because I just graduated and still suck at cooking.

It is firm Tofu if that helps.

Well I've had loads of tofu, but I don't have any specific recipe recommendations. Rather, I would suggest, if you are going to give it a good try - experiment with different preparations. e.g. wrap the tofu in a clean dish towel and put a heavy plate on it in the fridge over night to give it a 'steakier' firmness that will allow you to grill it nicely. Or throw it in the freezer. Freezing tofu does interesting things to the texture.

It took us quite a few mediocre tofu dish attempts (months) before we started playing around with the preparation of the tofu.

+1 to draining the tofu. I wrap it in a dish towel (or paper towel, anything that won't stick to/get cotton on the tofu) and stack a cutting board and heavy objects on top of it for 30+ minutes to get the moisture out.

I love banh mi sandwiches. You'll either find cutting matchstick-sized vegetables to be overwhelmingly tedious or oddly meditative...

There are also a lot of sweet and sour tofu and red/yellow/green curry recipes out there. They're all pretty similar, and you can mix and match depending on your leftovers. Marinading the tofu like the recipe above always helps the flavor of the dish, since raw tofu is pretty bland.

+1 on the freeze, thaw, press cycle before cooking. Critical IMO.
