Sometimes if I go one or two weeks without doing some pull-ups, push-ups, dips, squats, etc., my muscles feel a strange heaviness and slowness of sorts. As soon as I use them to do a few push ups or pull-ups however, 5-15 minutes later the muscles feel lighter and faster.
What is this feeling--maybe dusting-off-the-cobwebs phenomenon? (:

I don't know what causes this but it is very common. It gets worse when you get older. Last night I stayed up later than normal and then slept less than normal, and my legs were feeling sluggish in the morning. I went for a run and once I was warmed up they felt basically normal.
