What happens if you inadvertently keep the heat on in a pressure cooker?

Light stove, place pressure cooker on heat, wait until pressure valve is active--get distracted--remember 30 minutes later to turn off the stove.

What's inside the pressure cooker? Mush? Burns? Explosions? :mrgreen:

First mush, then burns (once all the water has left via the safety valves), later on you might even start setting the kitchen on fire.

but in 30 minutes, you're very unlikely to go past the mush phase.
