Just tried the test on todays workout. It was an insanity hell for sure. I consider myself fairly fit these days so I'm curious how I'll improve over the next 7 weeks with xmas coming up and all :p

Switch kicks (84) (one kick is one rep)
Power jacks (45)
Power knees (left knee or the weak one) (48)
Power jumps (64) <-- This one almost killed me.
Globe jumps (6) (one rep is one round or 4 jumps)
Burpees (15)
Push-up jacks (18)
Low plank oblique (42) (one rep is two knees)

What a great workout btw! I've been trying to create something like this on my own*, but this beats everything I've done so far. Edit: If it wasn't for my liking for boxing workouts, my results would probably be halfed.

*15-ish minute intense workouts. They are the best compromise between time, effort-results and motivation.

Because of joint pain in my feet, I have to do modified low-impact burpees:
1. Begin in standing position
2. Drop to squat position
3. Kick out left leg and then right leg while keeping arms extended
4. Bring in left leg and then right leg, returning to squat position
5. Stand and spring arms in the air

@wood - Insanity is actually a thing: a complete work out program (google it). The list I gave is a test of progress that's performed every two weeks. The other days are "harder"/has more work than the test itself. Incidentally, I'm somewhat of a fanboy. My previous workouts were running and cycling. This makes for weak abs.

I see. Running and cycling can be very enjoyable although time consuming. Insanity-like programs tend to wear me out over time, so if its going to be a tough program it needs an element of fun/competition/teamwork to it (a thread like this does it for me to get the competition element:) I find boxing perfect for my needs and this test can very well be incorporated into my schedule.

Looking at some of the youtube videos of people posting their test it becomes clear that some of them are more concerned with getting high numbers than doing the exercises 100% right. My general piece of advise is to always focus on correct technique. This is true for running, boxing, strength, or any other workout. With enough practice you will become fast&furious anyway.

I have been motivated for quite some time now by Jacob's posts to do another round of Insanity. I was all set to start about a month ago and then...I sprained my wrist ice skating. Well, enough time has passed and my wrist is almost completely healed, so today marked Day 1. Here are my results of my initial fit test.

Switch Kicks- 115 (1 kick is 1rep)
Power Jacks-60
Power Knees-102
Power Jumps-41
Globe Jumps- 11
Suicide Jumps- 17
Push Up Jacks- 36*
Low Plank Oblique- 41 (2 knees is 1 rep)

*Stopped early because of wrist

I'm coming for you Jacob. 8-)

Not sure I can ever physically beat that. IIRC, my split was pretty even... say 15 reps in the first 30 seconds and 14 reps in the second 30 seconds. Limit was force/mass and not air.

I saw Leila doing the whole insanity program, so I have an idea what kind of exhaustion you guys are meeting every time you do these exercises. This winter I tried the same with my cc skating. I have a nice cc skiing traject close by of 1 mile (1,5 km) where you have to climb 10 m (32 ft) (and go down) every round you make. After a lot of training I reached last week 6 rounds in about 1 hour. The problem I encountered was: A too high heartbeat (187 ppm) for my age and so exhausted that I got a bout of flu as my resistance was lowered.
My question is do your bodies have the same reaction as you are exhausted? And how to avoid?

Yes, I've experienced this. Overtraining depresses the immune system. There are various ways to avoid overtraining or rather be able to train more before entering the overtraining zone by strategizing around meal types, sleep, recovery, etc. For me that's what separates the professionals or wannabe-professionals from the amateurs, so I just train less.

@Bigato@Jacob: so the answer is to avoid overtraining oneself. And to find one's limits. The big disadvantage by my overtraining was/is that overcoming the flu takes a lot of energy and time and sets me way back (two weeks at least) in my training results so far (grrr)

My heartbeat rate was much too high (187). The advised maximum lies around 158 bpm (age related) and my maximum training rate must be about 85%= 134 bpm. I will take notice of this figure and stop or rest some time when I reach this figure to see how quick it will fall.

How high are you guys jumping? I feel like there' s a lot of time lost doing nothing while in the air if I jump.

Anyone know a good video as an example of someone doing these really quickly?

27 but I've never done this exercise before so my form was likely poor. Are you guys doing this with or without pushup?

Also, fuck this exercise, my heart and lungs are still crazy 3 minutes later.
