As you've probably noticed, the classifications are associated with the number of posts ...
0 Novice

30 Apprentice

100 Journeyman

300 Master

1000 Expert
This is modeled on the Cambridge book of Expertise (made popular in Gladwell's outliers) by taking the number of hours for their terminology, dividend by 10 and comparing to the number of posts ...
However, having recently reached 3000 ... what should we call
3000 ?

10000 ?

30000 ?
I realize this is a first world problem that's ridiculous to the first order, but humor me with some suggestions...

Ultima Online (a MMO game) used "Grandmaster" as the highest classification.
This is the scale they used:

Grandmaster - 100

Master - 90

Adept - 80

Expert - 70

Journeyman - 60

Apprentice - 50

Novice - 40

Neophyte - 30

No Title - 29 or below
I saw a post on some gaming forum thread about skill levels where someone said:
"OTOH, if a game is more about lore and knowledge, and you want a feel of the skilled being people who know stuff, then perhaps...
1. Initiate

2. Cognoscent

3. Erudite

4. Illuminatus"
or another:

0: Untrained

1: Novice

2: Competent

3: Professional

4: Veteran

5: Master

3000 - Bored at Work

10,000 - Needs Friends

30,000 - Clearly Retired
I'm kind of hoping I never fully retire. If you think I post a lot now...

What about doing away with those titles? I don't think they add anything. People can see the post count already.
Might be nice (for those who wish) to be able to show something FI related such as:
- "Retired" or "ERE'd" or similar

- "FI Since ____ (year)"

- ___ (days) to FI (if possible to do a counter)

I like C40's suggestion. I'd also like to see an option where we can input our SWR near our user name if we like or maybe when we expect to be FI.

Something about this reminds me of the rat experiments where they compulsively hit a lever which occasionally gives them a shot of cocaine.
