This thread is a little absurd.. "I'm on, are you there?" repeated 10x.
I've popped by a few times but nobody was active.
I propose the following times:

Anyone using this? I popped in briefly. It seems there aren't enough people on at the same time usually.
Someone mentioned a Skype group chat also. I dunno if people want to maintain some privacy or somethine but I bet that would have more activity probably.

I suggest virtual meetups once a weekly/fortnight/monthly/quarterly instead of empty IRCs like the above one.

That will be better and there will be actual interesting discussion if enough people attend than people showing up on IRC at random times.
