@EMJ: Welcome to my reality! Yesterday I was in a metal trailer parked on the front lawn of a very old building with 26 under-privileged first-graders. The teachers who do this job on a full-time basis are like soldier-saints in my book. These kids need more resources than the average suburbanite because they do not have as many resources at home, but they receive fewer resources, and the competent adults who are trying to help are being severely tried.
