I thought this was some pretty good advice to start the year with from the creator of Dilbert:

I especially liked the idea of substituting knowledge for willpower.
Not a New Year's Resolution for 2014 ...

Surprisingly good advice from Adams. Thanks.

Here's a nice list of reflections, too, that I'm stealing for my journal:

I liked this article on how to spend your day. http://www.artofmanliness.com/2014/01/0 ... urs-a-day/
"Yet in spite of all this he persists in looking upon those hours from ten to six as “the day,” to which the ten hours preceding them and the six hours following them are nothing but a prologue and epilogue. Such an attitude, unconscious though it be, of course kills his interest in the odd sixteen hours, with the result that, even if he does not waste them, he does not count them; he regards them simply as margin."

I need discipline too. Previously, I searched for inspiration, but that often failed me. I need to, as Nike would say, JUST DO IT! I like your idea of yearly themes. I don't know what mine would be this year, because my life is so messed up right now, I don't know if there is a theme it would fit into. Maybe my theme will be to actually build a solid lifestyle.
