One of my favorite coaching legends, Percy Cerutty, used to be famous for saying -
"Before you can call yourself a man you should be able to walk 100 miles in 48 hours, swim a mile and lift your own weight overhead."
Anyone capable of all three? I'd like to accomplish that before I turn 30.

What kind of lift? Any lift or press?

Not sure what exactly was in mind for the lift, but I always envisioned starting in a standing position, lifting the weight from the floor to overhead...maybe something like a clean and jerk?

Phew! I was worried that it had to be a press. I pressed 140 standing back when I weighed (almost) 180. I can still do a few 140 jerks for reps (now at 170).
I swam 2+ miles in the past in << 1 hour (I'd probably exhaust myself today. A little training. I haven't been in a pool for a long time.).
I have walked ~60 miles in around 30 hours (two day event).
So overall, I think I have a good shot :)
Walking 100 miles alone is pretty boring. If anyone wants to have a go at it, we can make an event. [I'll pick one of the bicycle century routes.]
