Radical Room Hacking Strategies?

Post by TopHatFox »

Trying to come with some radical strategies for reducing rent in a downtown apartment. Here are some thoughts:

1. Hanging a heavy curtain from the roof as a room divider
2. Using one of the fold-able "Japanese" room dividers
3. Finding someone that works the night shift while I work the day shift
4. Air BnBing the second half of the room during weekdays or weekends away
5. Having a nice pull out couch in case if one of us has a night guest

Thoughts?

If you google "cupboard bed", you'll see some very cool ideas. I like this because it creates a truly private little space within a room if you close the doors. Appeals to my hobbit side.

I wouldn't really recommend the day shift/night shift option. If your schedules don't align perfectly, one of you is going to be using lights and making noise while the other desperately wants to sleep.

How is this for a radical hack? https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2017 ... SApp_Other

Not sure why it needs to be able to slide back and force on rollers.

You already know the answer, don't you?

Move together with a lover or somebody else you share bed with.
