House selling resources

Best books (or websites) on selling a house, either by owner or through an agent?

redfin. I've bought a few. never sold, but their commission is lower, and service as good, as a buyer. better website, too.

Also very interested in this. I think I've heard Redfin mentioned as a cheaper alternative for selling before. Guess I'll check it out.

I bought my most recent condo with Redfin. I would highly recommend it.

FWIW, I looked into Redfin as a seller. I believe they wanted 1.5% commission (versus the 3% commission a selling agent would usually require)... however, they also have a minimum commission of $5k. Which would seem to indicate you are breaking even or paying MORE for Redfin than you would for a traditional agent if you're selling anything less than a McMansion. (Not sure if these were the exact numbers, they're from memory; I just remember it was not a good deal for my modest $250ker once the extra work is factored in.)
