Recently moved from Manhattan to Long Island City to reduce housing / living / misc expenses. My current roommates aren't frugal at all and I'm doing a good job in resisting unnecessary consumerism, but I feel living with a more frugal bunch will allow me to decrease even more.
Current rent is 1350 would have preferred something <1000. I am looking to live in large apartment / house with 3+ roommates in Astoria, Harlem, Hoboken, Jersey City. Nothing particularly fancy. I'm looking to move Winter or Spring 2016.
Does anyone have any other area suggestions? I'd ideally like to be 30-45 mins away from Flatiron / Midtown.
Is anyone living in these areas (or has a friend) looking for a roommate?
