Positive Reinforcement > Negative Reinforcement

Though, this must be one of the simplest business plans ever conceived. Wish I had though of it... What's next? Your headphones making a screeching noice if you can't do X push ups? A wrist band that heats up and burns your wrist if you can't do Y pull ups?

No, but (nerd alert) I use and love Habitica. Because now if I don't do my stuff, dragons get me.

Yes, and no. Punishing people financially drives people via Loss Aversion, which for any human being, is such a strong drive that things like beeminder and stickk.com work well.
Being under constant threat of punishment wears people out, but single goals driven by punishment coupled with doubled losses is VERY efficient. Losing money while giving it to someone you dislike is one of the strongest motivators available.
