I live in Michigan and did the $6 shipping. The regular shipping said I would have it by Oct 31 and the $6 option said Oct 15, so I paid the $3 extra....didn't realize that it would actually be Oct 5!

Unfortunately I don't think you see any profit from second hand sales, is that right? But at the same time, this is what you advocate for...not quite the best stance to take as a salesman

No profit from the used books, correct.
You're right. I have just about the worst demographics in terms of making sales.

@Q - Cool! What did you tell them? As far as I understand, they need to create a database entry in the records of Library of Congress.

I `filled out a quick online form with your ISBN and what the book is for etc.
It's for the San Jose Public Library, so, hopefully they order it.

I did that from my local library once and they actually got it. They knew me by name on sight, dunno if that made a difference.

Maybe:
First person to lend it to a friend.
First person to lose it.
First person to recommend it.
First person to spill coffee on it whilst reading it.
First person to get their copy personally signed.
First person to make notes in the margins.
First person to read it while "doing your business" in the johnny.
First person to have a wreck while reading and driving at the same time.
First person to file it in their book case, "Alphabetically by Author".
First person to reference it in a thesis.
First person to hold it on a street corner whilst preaching the sins of being a consumer.
First person to reference it to a car dealer whilst buying a car.
First person to recommend it on Amazon Dot Calm.
First person to give it as a gift for Christmas or Birthday.
First person to display it on their coffee table to impress friends.
Well, those could be firsts?
