I'm back!

I've been a watcher of this site for a long time. I relied upon it for the last five years that I worked for wages. All of my peers, family and friends thought that I was nuts. This site gave me support, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.

I have not posted for about four years now. I'm hoping that my somewhat unique experience and outlook can offer something.

I've been FIRE for four years now. Getting to my personal emancipation proclamation took twelve years of planning and working my plan.

I'm 47, happily married, former maintenance electrician, current part time forage farmer.

"You're a strange duck!" Is one of my friends description of me. I've always defied most people's stereotypes and predictions. Life is full of compromise. Thought it would be fun to use other people's description of me as my introduction:

A farmer without debt?

College educated, technical trained individual that enjoys manual labor and dirty fingernails?

Doesn't have to work, but does?

A rural american that exercises daily?

A health fanatic that almost never sees a doctor?

A lumberjack that's an avid reader?

He grew up on a cattle ranch, but he owns a flock of sheeps?

An introvert that loves selling to people?

A gett'r done guy who's a safety fanatic?

Wears a Chevy hat, but also drives (gasp) a ford!

Skinny white boy that idolised Mr. T? Pity the fool!
