Re: From homeless to million dollar business
I don't want to ask your specific product, but when choosing a single, simple product to market online, should it be a specialty product that is not being sold elsewhere? (hard to find)
Should it be something that you yourself use in some kind of lifestyle?
Should it be a simple, daily use thing?
Should it be a niche product?
Should it be something that you manufacture at home?
Should it be something you find on Ali Baba and give it a twist to make the Americans hipsters want it?

Re: From homeless to million dollar business
Way cool. I'm blown away by your experiences. What an adventure.
Re: From homeless to million dollar business
My guess is that it may be related to the number of concurrent connections. Some routers can use custom firmwares like OpenWRT, DD-WRT or others, which can be configured to support 10-20 times more connections than the stock firmware. The number is much higher by default on professional routers. This can be a problem for heavy users of bittorrent as well.Aspie wrote:Wrote the crawler from scratch. This is where that data is now (well, the thing has more HDD's nowadays..). Interestingly, only industrial routers can handle that sort of socket mayhem. Cisco or a SE-Asian equivalent, but cheaper. I paid 3 grand for my router, a Qno made in Taiwan, otherwise it didn't work. A 600 dollar semi-pro router choked in minutes. The most expensive consumer router choked in seconds.
