For those of you who do not regularly follow the IRC thread, I was hoping to get together a Virtual Meetup! It is today and it lasts all day.
At any point today, Friday, December 23, sign on to the IRC channel (it is very easy, the thread has good instructions).
Right now jforest and I are both on - hopefully we can get some more people streaming in throughout the day.

Here's how easy this is.
1) go to http://webchat.freenode.net
2) fill it out like this (use your own username instead of akratic ) and hit connect
3) chat!

This was a great idea! Glad I got a chance to talk with some of you guys/gals. It was nice being able to chat with some of those whose journals I follow. Hope more people were able to join as the day went by.

Thanks everyone :) In my eyes, the meetup was a huge success! Just when I was in the room I saw a rotation of probably about 15 people, and many forum all stars whose journals and posts I read all the time - what a hoot to talk to you guys!
It was so successful I definitely think it would be great to make this a monthly thing. I am targeting 21 January for the next one... it'll be a Saturday. Pop in any time and catch everyone else who's on at the same time!

Interesting. I never knew it was this simple. I didn't know they had webclient IRC channels. Something new to occupy my time at work :)

This is the dorkiest thing ever - and it sounds great haha. I might pop in, after I walk one mile uphill both ways in the snow to the grocery store (you think I'm joking... :-D).
Well, I tried to get on and I did, but there wasn't a box where I could reply. So hi back to Bigato and Liquid Saffire, sorry I am too dumb to figure this out.
Haha everyone is having trouble with the box. If you go to the bottom of the page, there is an arrow on your right hand side. Click it and a box pops up. Type and hit enter! :)
