   I think I should share these great sites ... whenever I feel an urge to go back to academia (something which happens very very rarely), I just need to read a few posts on these blogs to cure myself

   Yeah, after teaching one semester of an upper-division course at a CSU, I know what pure frustration is. The dean wants only 15% "A" grades; the lazy, shiftless "students" whine about anything less. It is impossible to give a "D" or an "F" without inciting a riot. And most of them were just barely above functionally illiterate in terms of writing ability. It was depressing.
