Kamuela, Big Island (the one with the volcano) specifically. I don't have a car, because the house is only blocks from all amenities, but it's on a "rural" block. Other towns are around 15 miles away so may be nice for you to have a car to explore the island.
Anyone in Hawaii want to share with another ERE?
About $600 a month, $50. less if you like to conserve. Would be best if you worked for yourself, or you were location independent, such as an online student, etc. Most islanders here have two jobs because of the low wages. Good pay in health care, a pharmacist, or are a qualified truck driver, tour guide, science observatory or other specialized skill. (Many off-grid examples here to study.)
