Re: mountainFrugal Journal
Love the image of B7 and I . Was really great to connect. Also fun that y'all made ravioli! I have thought about making it before, but it seems really labour intensive. It does seem like a special dinner that would be best as a group project (like tamales).

Happy things are synchronous for you! From the previous assignment: My intuition is a possibility vending machine. There are various input mechanisms and you can give it as little or as much as you want. The machine prefers to have seen something before, but is also happy to compare whatever you as...

Travel Diaries Part One: Synchronicities vs. Serendipity and Mr. Rodgers I have recently been deep diving into the term "synchronicity" and have been reflecting on how it relates to serendipity. A recent mantra of mine has been "be at the right place at the right time." I just fo...

Ooo interesting ideas! I have thought about also hosting either retreats or wwoofers at some point as well. There are a lot of steps and unknowns between where I am now and these visions, but interesting to percolate on them.

Community. Acknowledged the difficulty of pulling off IC and the very high failure rate, and the common reasons (poorly executed consensus processes leading to toxic people driving out non-toxic people; money stuff; people not being on the same page; the huge amount of work that leads to burnout; e...

Journal Update: I have been working on a collage card deck with questions/ activities on the back. My favorite so far has been the question: describe your intuition as an image. If anyone feels inspired, I would love to hear different images. B7 and I were talking to a new housemate who is a Ne dom ...

Yes please post here any resources, and I will share my observations. I would be happy to join the group or perhaps the next iteration. Thanks! Wanted to say Divandan, that there is a bit of a transition point in the group at the moment. We just finished the Wild Mind book and are taking a hiatus. ...

Suggestion: Eugene, OR (putting all in the ERE city format, some repeats from prior posts) Eugene is a small city (population 170k) in the Southern Willamette Valley. It has an alternative culture vibes in several respects. Permaculture, cycling, spirituality and diy find thriving enclaves here. Eu...

Re: ERE City (US)
Highly recommend Eugene! Eugene has a lot of ERE adjacent people as well as a lot of Permaculture projects. It is the cheapest medium size town in the Willamette valley (or maybe Salam is, but Eugene has way better interesting stuff/ people.) I would say the most interesting neighborhood is the rive...

I'm feeling like I need to increase my MBTI awareness beyond the most basic. You seem super into it (as does @Bicycle7!)... any suggestions for where to get started? I guess I should also ask, has it been as an important and helpful of a tool for you (both) as it seems? Yes, MBTI has honestly been ...

Looking forward to watching all that emerges from this thread. I hope to participate in some ERE community iterations as they unfold and potentially being an instigater of ERE/ ERE adjecent Wilamette Valley addition when I am more settled. I like the idea of being collaboraters in the same town/ str...

I think there is a lot of "grass is greener" that happens, well, everywhere, I guess. I understand the anxiety and overwhelm that comes with trying to make big life decisions. Every choice made leaves other choices unexplored. If you are mostly happy, though, and aren't precariously balan...

My neighbor across the street is moving, house going on the market March 1. All their plumbing has been updated (as well as floors & kitchen, I think), the house just had energy efficiency work done, and has a new roof. Price will probably be between $200k and $250k. The high was 70F today when...

The Levels of Wanting What You Have The thing that the book helped me realize is that at this level, the human instinct for *striving* and wanting More hasn't been replaced or reduced at this level, it's only been displaced . The More has shifted from consumer goods and experiences to freedom, stas...
