Re: What do you do for work?
I like saying I'm funemployed. It seems to signal to the career crowd that I'm ok (not worrying about money) and to the fun crowd that I'm not a working stiff. If I was 100% FI I think I'd consider saying retired to signal that I'm not doing that shit ever again, but alas, I might have to.

Conversation moved from here . Interesting. Very much like IllinDave (INFJ)s path. You were likely very much in your masculine energy in the moment, because ending things with a spendy ex requires cold "killer" functioning. Actually, according to Deida, anybody has to be in their masculine...

Ha! Helping out by letting someone else find their purpose in my old job, and also not contributing to the crowds at tourist destinations. Love it.

Internal contradiction is an indicator of misalignment. I'm sensing an internal contradiction about video games, is one present? Part of you experiences flow in video games. Another part of you feels...? We are right back to me not knowing whether the guilt I feel from spending so much time gaming ...

I think once you become an expert at ere then intuition kicks in and you don’t have to actually think about everything and micromanage life. In the time since I wrote what you responded to, I've actually started to see glimpses of how one could enjoy the process of doing more things for themselves....

Mulch is so critical in drylands. After it rains here, the ground can feel dry to the touch after just a couple hours. Under mulch, I've found soil still damp after a couple days.

Sometimes the vending machine needs more time, but more time doesn't guarantee better output.

Re: Positive and negative goals in a WOG
Maybe not, but you know of your own path to ERE as somebody who likely identifies as a people-person. I identify primarily as an idea-person, particularly a book-person, so I can directly trace my path to ERE through books I previously read which also overlaps quite a bit with shared bibliography w...

Happy things are synchronous for you! From the previous assignment: My intuition is a possibility vending machine. There are various input mechanisms and you can give it as little or as much as you want. The machine prefers to have seen something before, but is also happy to compare whatever you ask...

Re: Positive and negative goals in a WOG
Anyways, I'm almost certainly not connecting the dots very well here, but my intuition is that the very few ENFPs (The Inspirer) who somehow made their way to this forum might hold the most valuable insight on the "anti-meme" issue. :?: Was this a summons? I know nothing of anti-memes. Fi...

Re: Mastermind Group #2: Electric Boogaloo
Today's topic of conversation in the MMG was "how do exercise and diet fit into your web of goals?" The discussion had a "back to basics" feel to me, in a couple different ways. The first way is that many "classic" examples came up, in that if you have been around the f...

Re: Are we in a vehicle bubble?
Just another part of the everything bubble. As a tangent, one of my former pastimes was car comparing at work. I'd walk out to the parking lot after a day when coworkers were complaining about their salaries. Driving a 10 year-old car we had the oldest, cheapest car in the parking lot. A teacher dri...

This whole response was insightful. I should have thanked you earlier, but I thought I would do so when I had a response. I never came up with that response. Anyhow, thanks for taking the time. If you think flow state is an indicator of alignment, then I'm doing alright--I can lose myself for hours...

The reason zazen has helped with depression is you just sit there with your thoughts while trying to stay present, which has made me aware of how repetitive and useless and negative about 90% of what goes on inside my head is. In the The Power of Now , Tolle brought up how most people would view so...

@grundomatic - I notice the ground is rather dry in most all of the listings to put it mildly. Have you seen anyone growing vegetables in their backyard? Well, it is the desert. I know a few people that grow some things, but it isn't common. It's much more common to have citrus trees. I will say th...

Re: ERE City (US)
I actually like this one... or rather the house type (the blue one). Small, simple, easy to maintain, and made out of bricks. I've seen such before when IIRC @C40 did his motorcycle tour. Are these types common in the SW? Lots of brick houses in Tucson. Ones as small, simple, and square as that one...

Suggestion: Tucson, AZ, various neighborhoods Tucson is a desert climate. Oct-May is amazing to be outside, the weather is why I moved here. There will be a few cold weeks tossed in there, but it’s generally going to be pleasant if the sun is out. Jun-Sep can be rough, with between 60-108 days over...

Around here you get a reading list . Then you are expected to build your own portfolio based on your financial temperament. If you are looking for someone to give you a simple plan to follow that doesn't involve high fee advisors, there's this post from Mr. Money Mustache, with a link at the end to ...

OMG if you come to New Orleans in October we can ruin your life in an afternoon. Ok, I know you are trying to start ERE city in Tucson @grundomatic, but these problems would be solved for you in New Orleans. People here really hate to work. I told DW about these conversations and she started lookin...
