So, is Pence in Control at the Moment?
Here's a thought .... President Trump's physical health with covid 19 aside, how about his mental health since he's at this time taking a steroid. One of the side effects is mood swings. A volatile personality without meds and now he's on a med that causes mood swings. Makes me a little nervous :sho...

Re: Cast Iron Skillet
I got a cast iron skillet recently. But found myself using stainless steel instead most of the time since stainless steel is just easier to use and clean. The cast iron, I'll use for when I want to sear a good steak. But for other stuff (even searing a pork chop), I'll grab the stainless steel for e...

Re: Pandemic, Protests/Riots and the Stock Market
The stock market has a life of it's own. That's why time and time again folks have failed trying to time the market.

Re: At Least The Impeachment Has Given Clarity
Powerless in that Senate are not impartial jurors. Of course, we new that going in anyhow. So no surprise of outcome.

Re: At Least The Impeachment Has Given Clarity
Yeah, I know. Monarchy might be too strong a word as that means lifetime, like the Queen in England. But the precedent set by the senate is that as long as the senate has the majority with the president, then the house is pretty much powerless. For example if Sanders or Warren wins the election and ...

ZAF - Good post. I actually agree with many of the points you mentioned.
Maybe there is hope after all, thanks to the local elections.

At Least The Impeachment Has Given Clarity
Since the impeachment is winding down and we pretty much know how that will end, seems to me in thinking about November's election and the future, have to ask what type of country do you want.
Three choices: 1) Monarchy 2) Socialism 3) Something between 1 + 2

Re: Tulsi 2020: Anti-war Democrat says she’s running for US president
I have to agree with Hillary on this one. After the last democratic debate, I went ahead an looked up a youtube video on Tulsi mainly because of the debate exchange she had with Buttigieg. Going down to the comments, the comments were all one sided praising Tulsi as though comments were manufactured...

Re: China/Ukraine request
Didn't we see a similar situation with Michael Cohen? Just saying.
One moment, Trump was quoted as saying "You'll have to check with Michael Cohen". Next moment, Trump was calling him a liar.

Re: China/Ukraine request
A couple of Giuliani's associates got locked up for trying to cut business deal in Ukraine boasting of Trump ties.
Won't be long until Trump says he hardly even knows Giuliani. That Giuliani barely worked for him.

New Gun Laws Take Effect in Texas, Sept 1, 2019
Texas have loosened rules as to where guns can be carried. Texas can now be the test state of that theory of whether having more guns around bring about a safer place. Of course, I think folks minds are probably already made up. But will be interesting, say in a couple of years to see what the stati...

Re: So What Happens if Trump Decides to Fire Mueller?
Looks like Manafort is agreeing to sing for Mueller. I guess those cramped prison cells have a way of changing a person's mind. ;) Paul Manafort, formerly President Donald Trump's campaign chairman, pleaded guilty Friday in Washington, D.C., to two new counts, admitted his guilt in 10 counts outstan...

Some thing that pulling the security clearance of John Brennan is just an roundabout way of trying to sabatoge to Mueller investigation. Of course, others think this is just a diversion away from Omarosa .

Re: Guns in America
This reminds me a lot of the filesharing sites. The argument is the sites don't control what is shared, but only host the sites. The blowback of 3-D guns is the optics of printing an untraceable gun. But on the side of the guy that wants the blueprints out, "How is this any different then buy e...

Re: Trump and FIRE
I would not base my investments on anything Trump says or does. He'd have you buying and selling at the drop of a hat since he changes positions so often.
Better to follow an investment strategy (indexing, buy and hold, for example) than follow a hunch here or there.

Kinda like the answer to Tomi Lahren.
I have Lahren blocked on my news and Facebook feeds. Would block someone like this editor too.

Re: Guns in America
In the news recently is 3-D printable guns, non-traceable. Downloadable blueprints to print out 3-D gun parts to assemble. The argument for the pros goes like this is free speech and the right to bear arms. The argument against is this is a gift to terrorists and other bad folks. For the last half d...

I have a relative who is a fanatical atheist. I can't get in deep conversations with him as he's too "religious" in his atheism for me .
