Re: Cable management - Science or art?
Have you considered peg board to neatly grid your components and route wires underneath? For your example I'd place the white item in the center and have the two wire items on the left and the multiwire items on the right.

My realistically-ideal mate won't have much self-actualization. That's not realistic enough for this thought experiment.

Re: Gen-Gen Bender Question
Absolutely not. Then again, I am opposed to dating/situationships. One of the things I learned is that women like a "competent confidant man". One surefire way to get my partner to hate me is give me enough money time and energy to pursue my projects. I will struggle, run into dead ends, a...

Re: How do ERE men attract women?
Young woman: No. Asking a woman out was never the issue. Multiply anything by zero is zero. For me, asking women out and getting rejected is dating. For most other people going on dates is dating. @Henry Yes. Her feelings trump facts. She tried to shame, insult and guilt me and when I refused to pla...

Re: How do ERE men attract women?
This is my anecdote of a conversation with my aunt. Aunt : You should date more. Toska2 : I should date less. Aunt : It's easy. You ask women out. Many say no, some say yes. Go out with the ones who say yes. Toska2: I haven't had that much success. Aunt : Maybe you're a lazy, idiot or a loser. Toska...

https://offtheleash.net/2016/01/31/the-invention-of-the-teenager/ "question of degree and what kind of responsibilities and concerns someone is able to understand or accept" ---- That's how I apply Kegan levels. The question, "Are we Real Adults?" is comparative. I've gutted a fe...

If you didn't figure out that every politician and big business has a vested interest in devaluing your money and time, THEY ABSOLUTELY DO. What's your opinion on the Milk Shake theory and BRIC's reserve currency? The way I read it, is that if the USA can no longer export its inflation ,then hyperif...

My two current part time jobs are my "gym" and I am trying to get out. There's not enough rest during the busy season.

Re: Financing purchases
Even if it's at 0% interest, that company now has free advertisement in your head every time you make a payment. Then there is the other psychological part, people tend to justify their purchases. Every time a payment is made, you tell yourself, "That was a good purchase.", because of your...

Just so you guys don't feel left out. At the behest of my uncles, I have my general license and a YAESU FT-2980 and a 2m carroof mount. I studied to take the test so my useful knowledge is lacking. I only use it during during offroad rally events that my uncles are involved with. This skill feels li...

@theanimal My friend had a similar problem with his car. When he got new tires they always bounced regardless of normal shop balancing. He had them roadforced (tm) balanced and found that two had broken cords inside the tire. Roadforced balancing applies car like pressure to simulate real forces on ...

Re: 7Wannabe5-Take9-One Ordinary Day, With Peanuts
My entrepreneurs/consumers tangent is that consumers want to spend and entrepreneurs are the people who offer them something. I argued with my friends that legalization and taxation of pot wouldnt save States' tax coffers because those potheads woudn't need therapy, movies, painkillers ect. Money no...

We have a saying here in the sticks : "Find a fat girl to keep warm in the winter. Then don't feed her so she is skinny for summer."

Re: Minimalist welding skill and equipment acquisition
Ok. A couple things. At 110v you're limited to 1/8 single pass mig, maybe 1/4 triple pass if you preheat. Flux core/no shield gas adds 1/16. A simple lincoln box arc welder can go from 1/8 to 3/8" and can be picked up for $200. This is a better option if not welding contantly as rods keep bette...

Re: BIFL Work Gloves
I use ATG maxiflex and maxicut gloves. They last 3-5 longer than anything at harbor freight while fitting better. Not as grippy as some rubberized gloves. I deal with highly abrasive rough cut wood, logs and punky osb so this isn't an issue.

I asked a date to help split and stack wood for a family that would feed us and allow us to use their paddleboards. She declined and I did it myself.

Movement is good for the body. What it looks like; play or work, depends on the observer. Play or work can be good or bad depending on situation and realm (individual or social).

ERE or ERE(tm)?
ERE - age 16. My grades were only good enough for a "half ride" and my parents weren't paying for college. In hindsight I should have become a millwright or linesman.
ERE(tm) 26ish. IWith a true carreer job, I had no peers with my savings rate so I sought some.

This journey strikes me as dependent on kegan levels. How you precieve yourself and you place in community (loosely defined). I would theorize that thinking, doing and immersion into the human element would provide adequate results. (Aka why so many parents find raising kids rewarding) The Serenity ...

Another longshot is less than truckload (ltl) deliveries. Packages wont change the radio on you. Just be aware of drug dealers.
