I have to encrypt my thumb drives to be able to use them in work (government) computers. The computers themselves prompt me though, so I didn't know how to do it just because I wanted to.

When Bono sings, its beautiful. When he talks, its the defense for justifiable homicide.
That's great!

7WB5 I don't have any suggestions, but hope you take care of yourself. You are valued.

I thought I had all of A.E. Van Vogt's stuff in my library, but that one doesn't sound familiar.

Yes. Sorry, but that is the only question that I know the answer to. If I needed to lose some fat I would fast for a couple of days, more if needed.

@brighteye Subscribed. Pretty impressive outfit he has going on. I can't hep but notice though that every successful permaculture project has tons of volunteers and interns working on the farm. It's a lot of work. Ugh, one of the guys who works with me just quit to go do that, be an intern. Of cour...

There will be no traditional funeral arrangements. I hate traditional funerals and really despise graveyards. Why do dead people need land? And, half the time it's really good land.
I think Riggerjack's idea for old growth forest cemeteries is a great one.

Zucchini bread would be a lot better if you substituted grated apples for the squash.... Sheesh, even grated beets or turnips.

Re-upping this thread. Any advice for a temporary salve to jacob's type-2 burnout? I figure I need about 6 weeks of mental energy to finish a project and find another job. I'm sorry, but all I can say is that I need to get out of this as soon as I can. If I quit, no pension for over two years. If t...

I'll have to get somebody to take a picture of me splitting firewood. Just for that picture I'll do it shirtless! I generally wear coveralls. After they're soaked in sweat they're not too hot.

Re: Can one control one's thoughts?

I've never felt like I thought in any language. When I speak English, I translate my thoughts (sometimes imperfectly!) into English. When I speak Spanish, it's the same procedure, but what I say is more limited due to my smaller vocabulary. When I can't think of the word I want I always want to use ...

I like them, though frame packs are becoming popular at least for off-road touring. I have both front and rear pairs, though for commuting I only use the front ones on the back. They're pretty worn-out Ortleibs, I should probably get another set before I retire.

Typical INTJ values are competence, efficiency, and independence. If you want an even better...

Re: How many of you are financially independent? What have you done since FI? What did you do before FI?

Oh the OP. Not yet. If I have to I'll wait another 2 years 3 months, as I can retire at age 56. But if they offer an early out (drain the swamp, Trump!) then I'm taking it. My pension plus 3% withdrawal from my Thrift Savings Plan would get me around $30,000/year which should be plenty. And I have t...

How close are you to Eagle Cap, Farm_or? I love that place and want to go back. I need to figure out a loop route if possible, to avoid needing two cars to cross the whole thing.

Re: Full time RV-ing as a snowbird?

If you buy a used RV and maintain it well, it probably won't depreciate. I haven't checked the prices for 1960s Airstream trailers, but they seem popular. I think most depreciation happens when you buy it new and drive it off the lot.
