Re: What values do you value the most?

You're gonna get a personality profile anyway ;-) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1f/MyersBriggsTypes.png/1200px-MyersBriggsTypes.png Most people will tend to value what/who they are. Typical INTJ values are competence, efficiency, and independence. If you want an even better...

I like Spam. I had a little can about 40 miles into a longer bike ride, as a break, and it was great. I haven't eaten any since though. I just never think about it.

Re: How many of you are financially independent? What have you done since FI? What did you do before FI?

Oh the OP. Not yet. If I have to I'll wait another 2 years 3 months, as I can retire at age 56. But if they offer an early out (drain the swamp, Trump!) then I'm taking it. My pension plus 3% withdrawal from my Thrift Savings Plan would get me around $30,000/year which should be plenty. And I have t...

How close are you to Eagle Cap, Farm_or? I love that place and want to go back. I need to figure out a loop route if possible, to avoid needing two cars to cross the whole thing.

Re: Full time RV-ing as a snowbird?

If you buy a used RV and maintain it well, it probably won't depreciate. I haven't checked the prices for 1960s Airstream trailers, but they seem popular. I think most depreciation happens when you buy it new and drive it off the lot.

I eat for a living Seriously? How did you get that kind of job? I think I could be good at that. :D I inspect processed fruit and vegetables for the USDA, and eating them is pretty much required since flavor is one of the factors in the grade. Today I probably ate a couple pounds of frozen blueberr...

Triglyceride 76 mg/dL HDL Chol 42 mg/dL I get 1.8. Kaiser P. doesn't give any recommendations for that ratio. I'm 53. I eat for a living, lots of fruit (blueberries today) and vegetables, but am still an omnivore. My HDL has always been low like that, once under 40. I can't eat seafood without const...

Re: Best packable permanent alternative for a matress?

@Brute, how do you clean a thai mattress? For some reason, only "airing it out" doesn't seem to strike confidence in cleanliness. Also, do you place a sheet over the thai mattress, or sleep on it as is with a sheet over you? Most normal mattresses don't get cleaned. Put a sheet on it, wash that as ...

Seems a bit silly though---it would be like buying a piece of 4x8 plywood and sleeping on that.
that's literally what brute's been doing.
Why do you need the plywood? Ground too lumpy?

Re: Increasing Flexibility

It was funny (well, funny sad) today, because my boss, who is several years older than me, jumped up on his desk and was demonstrating hip flexor stretches to me (complaining his hip flexors were tight) and I realized that I could barely have gotten up on the desk, let along twist myself up like a ...

Re: Another view of death...

It was a lot of speculation. I wonder why the author wants to believe what he does.

I think being dead is just not existing, just like I was before I was born (or conceived, if you prefer.) It didn't bother me then, but I have better things to do than be dead.

Halfmoon, I was going to put the attractant on somebody else, not myself. They find me too attractive already. At least ticks don't usually like me, I got my first bite Sunday after living in the woods for 26 years.
