How to minimize flatulence? :D

Did he really go there? Yeah, he did. Hot tips for minimizing flatulence~~~? Bodies are different, though there are certain factors that help, such as using new water when making beans or not eating wheat if one has celiac's disease. I've read that eating all organic food helps as well, and so...

Re: Quality resources on Van Living? (Books are most useful to me)

Yeah, I agree: that article did more to depress me than anything else... This is why I hate Pinterest and Instagram. They tend to idealize everything to the point where reality is never good enough, van life included. (For the love of all that is good, avoid the fitness or beauty sections in particu...

Can you tell me when you saw the light. What guided you? Thank you all for the wonderful words of affirmation; I appreciate it greatly. As for the question above, I don't know, I think I was always completely dissatisfied with going to middle school and high school, and that dissatisfaction lead me...

Re: You only live once - help

I've been exploring the concept of past lives and reincarnation recently, so if you do get hit by a bus in this life, perhaps you can say to hell with the deposit in your next life? Should you remember anyway... :P I agree on the time-tables idea dragline mentioned. To add to it, if you can find a w...

Re: Deleted Facebook: The Effects

Update: A year later after deleting Facebook, my social life has never been more intimate and deep, and the books and other media I take in have never been more deliberate and detailed. I am also less exposed to rumors or other yammering unless somebody has the courage to tell it to my face. ^^ That...

Cheapest way to move my modest amount of stuff to a new city?

I'll be moving from Amherst to a city-suburb near New York City. I currently own 10 books, just a twin mattress with sheets + a comforter, two large tapestries, a casual wardrobe, a dressy wardrobe, a chair, a table-desk, will have just one bicycle and possibly a two-wheeled bicycle trailer, a broom...

Ray Jardine's "Blood Cleaner" concept? Also, making your own nano-silver?

Seems too good to be true, but what the hell, let's put it through the ERE crowd test:

Does it seem like a plausible concept to you all? It seems worth trying with skepticism/caution to me~

On dealing with rumors?

It would seem I have attracted some negative attention from a handful of humans, just as I have attracted the deep love of a few others. Standing for something will do that perhaps. Today as I was casually walking through campus minding my own business, unbeknownst to me--at least until I peered upw...

BRIEF UPDATES PART II: 1. Relationships: Now partnered with the 25 yo polyam woman. Give me good habits to adopt?

Pretty please? Looking for new ideas. I'm not looking for anything in particular, whatever goood habit you've really found useful I'd like to know about!

On my end, I'm working on adopting an alternating "stretch, strength, meditation, cardio, reading, language study, podcasts" daily programme.~

Trying to create a "new normal" with exercise?

Just like we intend to brush and floss every day, I'm trying to find a "I did this weight-lifting set today, or I did this cardiovascular set today." I know the bodybuilding community have an "arm day", "leg day", "chest day", "cardio day", etc. Maybe doing something like that would be good? The goa...

Re: Best solution for ~3 mi professional commute: Electric Bike, Touring Bike, Scooter/Moped, Car, Shuttle, etc.?

I might be able to get closer. I haven't seriously started looking for housing yet considering classes, but the closest city to the firm is ~3 mi away on avg. ----- Perhaps I should consider adding chinos and polos to my dressy repetoire. Thus far I have 6 button ups and one charcoal merino wool sui...

I'll be asking for a standing desk : P

Walking is an option, though the biggest hurdle is figuring out how to most conveniently carry a business casual outfit to change into.

Best solution for ~3 mi professional commute: Electric Bike, Touring Bike, Scooter/Moped, Car, Shuttle, etc.?

Currently placing my three bikes up for sale (vintage road, vintage mountain, and a vintage touring bike that doesn't fit me). I'll probably get ~$700-1000 for them. I'm trying to determine the best solution for a 3 mi commute in year-round New England weather, with the requirement to wear business ...

Re: Is living in the moment a privilege?

That's really interesting: the fetishization of powerlessness. I wonder where the boundary is between noticing and pointing out inequity and simply glorifying our own advantages. Perhaps then the better alternative is to quietly or briefly acknowledge advantages, and mostly focus our energies on cre...
