Re: COVID19 and boycotting Chinese made
As if 2020 couldn’t get any more cursed, NASA scientists looking back through decades-old data from the Voyager 2 spacecraft have discovered a mysterious gas escaping from Uranus. The data showed some mysterious force sucking the atmosphere straight out of the planet and into space. Highly detailed ...

Re: COVID19 and boycotting Chinese made
Politics is best for constructive purposes imho. Otherwise, it's a wasteland, humanity at its worst.

Re: 1, 2, 3 and to the 4: Getting Back into the Numbers Game
I love poems... 8-) Here lies Diophantus,' the wonder behold. Through art algebraic, the stone tells how old: 'God gave him his boyhood one-sixth of his life, One twelfth more as youth while whiskers grew rife; And then yet one-seventh ere marriage begun; In five years there came a bouncing new son....

Re: 1, 2, 3 and to the 4: Getting Back into the Numbers Game
If these were the expensive faux pearls then I'd say just take the loss and move on, and chalk it up to an experience of what not to do for posterity. (Besides, the question could have been simpler: Only 6 pearls were left after 80% of the pearls went missing when a necklace broke. How many pearls w...

Re: 1, 2, 3 and to the 4: Getting Back into the Numbers Game
One math class that I've constantly used throughout life was algebra. If moving on to advanced classes is the goal, then it will be well worth the effort to go through it, covering all the topics. quadratic functions, logs and exponents, graphs, system of equations, matrices, inequalities, radical f...

I like that, and it's probably very true.
After preparation, it's the doing that makes the most difference - whether it is indexing, trading, investing or gambling (or doing all). Rest is the roll of the dice. (probability.)

Re: Holding Cash Until Coronavirus is Settled
To the OP: Before talking about investing, are you in a position to invest? Do you have any debt? Do you have adequate savings established to weather through a financial storm in a jobless situation to leave your investments alone? If any of the answers above is yes, then I wouldn't worry about inve...

Re: What use is math for the average pleb (outside academia)?
The most obvious effect of math for the average pleb living in modern times is the difference in pay. Knowing math, rudimentary or advanced, is only the first step. The real difference in pay comes when the so-called rudimentary math, such as algebra, is paired with another set of knowledge to solve...

Re: Trade going against me - your opinion?
This is a complex question that touches upon many facets of trading, imo. The subject itself is complex. Gold is a tricky asset to begin with. Then there is the psychology. And knowing when to sell. It's very hard to know when to buy and even harder still to know when to sell. I would deal with this...
