Re: EDC porn

Man I need to get in on this altoid tin stuff. I currently just carry a gerber multitool with me and my phone. I keep a fair bit of stuff in my backpack but it isn't always with me. Thanks for the inspiration.

<t>@George, just thinking... how about micro hydro? If you are looking to get into generating your own power.<br/> As far as the original topic... it really just seems like they are trying to make jobs for themselves and sell electric at a rigged price, while making you pay for the construction...<b...

<t>I would still invest in the 401k. You can set up 72t distributions when you "retire" early and then get the money out without paying a penalty. You just have to take it out in "substantially equal distributions" but even if you retire for a couple years and live on that, then go back to work, you...

<t>C40: I do tend toward a US-centric view; so I appreciate the insights into how the second hand market (or lack-thereof) is in Mexico.<br/> Perhaps there would be a market for used computers from the US in Mexico, here they just get scrapped or thrown in a landfill, you'd have to deal with import ...

@Christopherjart: Perhaps you are trying to buy a computer new? Used older computers that are just fine for internet and email are really cheap at any local thrift store. Just wipe and re-install an old copy of XP and it should run fine.

The mead I made was best after about 2 years of aging, but it was a high alcohol mead (14% I think?)
Also homebrewtalk.com is a great place for mead/wine making, its main focus is on homebrewing beer, but the wine and mead subforums are very active.

<t>Thanks for posting your journal! Your budget numbers help me compare mine and see what is possible. It shows me I really need to get out from under this house and get someplace much cheaper to live in. Also our phone bills are so much higher than yours I want to get off that quick as well. As for...

I can't seem to find cheap 30-06 ammo anywhere. So much so that I'm thinking of getting another rifle that takes cheaper ammo, something perhaps in the 7.62x39

My theory on shells - more like buttons. 1 = soapy water bidet, 2 = rinse bidet, 3 = air blower/dryer
Anyway :) I like the idea of cutting another cost... but seems like more work and time to wash with a rag or something, then have to do more laundry later.

I'm looking in to the no-mattress thing, but not sure I could do without the tp, plus it's really not a lot of dough.
